Hello, I am a passionate and dedicated high school science teacher with 20 years teaching middle and high school science. My desire it to inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning in the minds of young scientists. I am excited about this professional development opportunity to bring you new and innovative ideas to help get and keep students engaged.
Pear Practice, formerly Giant Steps, is a part of Pear Deck Learning. Pear Practice provides certified standards-aligned content for K-12 Math and ELA and more than 15 premium features. These features include standards reporting, personalized explanations for questions during independent practice, AI features for accelerating the process of developing content, additional question types like Classification and Diagram and so much more!
Pear Practice Live Practice is a gamified learning feature designed to engage students in critical thinking and collaboration. Each practice has a round of questions selected by you that students answer with their teammates. When answered correctly, students earn rewards and care packages. When they are in groups, the groups earn bragging rights at the end of practice.
Success is observed in collaboration, feedback, and positive game flow. Students also create their own Avatar as they progress through continual practice games.
