Hello Everyone,
My Name is Morgan Sigrist. I am the Teacher of the Visually impaired in the Saint Joseph School District. In our district, we have 29 students with some type of Vision Impairment. Could be deaf/blind, blind, low vision, cortical vision impairment, and many more diagnoses.
I love spending time with my family. I love traveling and also being at home watching TV. I love working with children and helping them.
The best thing about vision impairments is helping students who have difficulty with vision to teach them how to advocate for themselves and try to be independent as much as possible. To help them be in the classroom with their same-aged peers. Help them learn just like everyone else. I am very excited to give you resources and help you with the students.
I hope you are interested in the training. I will be talking about modifications and accommodations. We will be doing hands-on activities. I will answer any questions you have and I will have resources that are available for staff and students.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact one of us by email or by phone.
